Venturi aeration planters utilize the natural vacuum created when plants absorb water from the bottom of the planter. As the water level decreases, air is drawn in through a hole at the top. An air gap surrounding the perforated inner soil chamber allows air to reach the soil, encouraging plant roots to spread outwards in search of fresh air.
